BFY Group, leading management consultants in UK Utilities, acted as the lead energy advisors throughout the process as LDC makes a minority investment in market-leading student accommodation advertising platform, UniHomes.

UniHomes, based in Sheffield and operating in 41 locations nationwide, helps students by connecting them with thousands of student properties offering all-inclusive living. Part of the Lloyds Banking Group, LDC have over 40 years of investment partner experience as shareholders.

UniHomes’ simple all-inclusive offer for students sees them successfully interface with a complex regulated energy industry, saving students from the hassles of setting up and managing multiple accounts for their utilities. BFY Group provided advice across the customer journeys, commercial arrangements, energy price scenarios, and regulatory risk management.

Before this, he spent nine years at Centrica in various senior commercial roles. Tom’s early career was spent at Bain & Company as a Strategy Consultant.

Matt has worked in the energy sector for over 10 years, across customer operations, regulation, strategy, finance and M&A.
